The Women Moving the World project is focused on women who are heads of family or single mothers who need a decent home. These women are almost always single mothers without a couple.This project will take place from July 207 to July 2008 to support 100 women heads of family in ten states of the Mexican Republic. 2004 Jimmy Carter Work Project, Mexico150 houses in 5 daysHabitat for Humanity Mexico makes it possible Mexico was host of one of the events with greater volunteer participation in the country: the 2004 Jimmy Carter Work Project. 4,100 volunteers from 37 countries and 10 states throughout the country, joined to build 150 houses in 5 days with Habitat for Humanity Mexico in communities of Puebla and Veracruz from October 24 to 29 in 2004. In Mexico, it was not until 1983 that the right to housing became a constitutional right and was considered a human right. To close this gap, there is a requirement to build 750,000 houses per year in this decade, of which 307,000 would be for individuals that earn less than three Mexican minimum wages and are part of the population living in extreme poverty.
